Going to see what I can do to get a group to Powder Mountain on Jan 1st. I haven't been there in about 6 years years and I'll proably be feeling strong enough for a half day up there. :)
What a day! My coworker Adam and I decided today would be a grand day to go snowboarding up at The Canyons. It was.
We managed to get things underway by about noon or so. the first couple runs took it out of me (not in awesome shape) so we went to the lodge where I could rest for a bit and get a bite to eat - grilled chicken salad and a beer :D
We probably had about 6 more runs the rest of the day. I'm fairly wrecked right now. I think I'll make this an early night.
They just came in so I'm tromping around the office in them for a little bit. I kind of like the Boa lacing system on them. A few people shied away from recommending it but I figure I'll give it a whirl. I was mostly warned away from the single-zone variety because you can't dial in the fit as well as you can on the dual-zone. This boot has a 3 zone system on it (2 Boas and an "ankle harness with lace lock" that you use to keep the liner tight against your foot. The Boa dial on the front of the boot tightens things up at the shin and the dial on the side tightens the top of the foot.
Laced in I feel very snug at the ankle but I can still wiggle my toes. I think when I have them molded I'll be in even better shape. Now to find a local shop that will hook me up.
